Tricia and Brett had lovely weather for their late September nuptials this past weekend (the end of Sept is always such a gamble- it could be 80 degrees or 50!) and I am so grateful to have the chance to second shoot their wedding for Brittney Mangold Photography. Second shooting offers freedom you don’t have as the head photographer. I can focus more on composition and perfecting my camera settings instead of directing the posing, keeping people happy, being “on” every single second! Brittney was great to spend the wedding day alongside, and I am excited to see her take on this day as well! Tricia and Brett got ready at the infamous Pfister Hotel, which I was SO excited to photograph in. The Pfister has this beeeautiful, ornate detail is just otherworldly. Rumor had it that Justin Timberlake (who was in town performing the night earlier) was even staying at the Pfister the night prior!! Unfortunately, we didn’t happen to see him 😉

Tricia and Brett’s ceremony was at Calvary Church, better known as “The Big Red Church” located just off of Marquette University’s campus. The Gothic architecture makes it a gorgeous place to get married! We headed to Lakeshore State Park (click here for an engagement session I did here earlier this summer!) for their bridal party photos and closed out the night at South Second in Walker’s Point. I loved shooting at South Second because of all of the natural light the wall of windows let in!! Some reception venues are so not photographer-friendly in terms of their lighting, but this wasn’t the case here! I may or may not have cried through their father/daughter mother/son dances (you’ll never know, my camera hides my face at these opportune moments!). Even Skylar, the most well behaved flower girl I’ve encountered, got in on the fun when UberEats delivered her McDonald’s Happy Meal to her! Their night was truly uniquely them. I wish all the best to Tricia and Brett, and trust they are thoroughly enjoying their honeymoon to Nashville as I type this!!!
