Three years ago, my new year’s resolution was to read 12 books in a year (I figured finishing one book/ month was a good goal for me). The past two years I’ve done well in the first months of the year, yet by May I get off track, never to finish anywhere near 12 by December. Until this year! It seems silly to get so excited about this, but even though I love reading, it’s really hard for me to find time to sit down with a book. My friends introduced me to Libby, and my world has been completely changed. With my library card, I have access via Libby to hundreds of thousands of audiobooks for FREE! I still can’t get over it.
This year I physically read 6 books- yet, I’m finishing the year out with over double my original goal of 12: I read/ listened to a total of 29 books! Some were picks for my neighborhood book club and others were suggestions from others that liked them. I rated each book at the end in my journal, and most hovered around an 8/10. Yet, at the end of the year, I thought it would be fun to rank them in order from worst (29) to best (1). The top 10 were all so hard to arrange, yet I’ve landed on an ordering I can live with 😉
I figured it would be fun to share the books I’ve read and enjoyed. If you need suggestions or inspiration- see below. And if you have any books I need to add to my “to read” list, I’m all ears! Here’s to beating 29 books for 2021!

I love this post so much! I used to be such a book worm and I completely stopped reading when I first started dating Peter. My goal this year was to read 12 books. Just like you, I had the same mindset that a book a month should be doable. I signed up for Book of the Month club to help keep me accountable and I’m proud to say, I met my goal!! I read Untamed and loved it. Some of my other favorites were: The Guest List, Home Before Dark (highly recommend), The Shadows (The Whisper Man also by Alex North) and Beach Read. Can’t wait to talk about more books in 2021! 🙂
