I have been looking forward to this engagement session for SO long, and not just because it was in my old home of Chicago. Mallory and Paul are two of the most genuine people, and it was such a treat to spend time with them! They met at a bar on the same block as their apartment (The Kerryman- highly recommend if you’re in town!) while Mallory was on a first date with another guy. Paul saw her from across the room, and after chatting back and forth, got her number before they left. After chatting back and forth for a bit, they had their own first date at Truluck’s… and the rest is history! He proposed with the most gorgeous pear-shaped diamond ring ever! Mallory says she’s always wanted a pear shape after seeing Jessica Simpson’s ring from Nick Lachey 🙂 Where all of my 90s kids at?!
We started our Chicago engagement session at the Wrigley Building (this might be my favorite spot in Chicago to shoot!!) and later walked to the same church courtyard I took my own wedding photos in!! We ended our session at The Kerryman for some sentimental photos outside. There, the staff greeted us with celebratory drinks and the warmest smiles. I could see then why Mallory had told me their staff is like family to them! Mallory and Paul are getting married next fall at the beautiful Grand Geneva, and I cannot WAIT to spend more time with them and their closest family and friends then!
