It’s finallyyyy starting to feel like fall around here! And with fall comes engagement session season 🙂 Retzer is gearing up for fall too- the tall grass is growing golden, leaves are starting to change, and the field full of yellow wildflowers this summer is now purple. Kim and Jake traveled here from Door County for their engagement session on their way back home to the Chicago suburbs. I’m always impressed and appreciative when people make such an effort for their photos!

And since their engagement story is SO cute I have to share that too! Despite Jake being an introvert, he did the most public proposal that Kim never expected. It happened on the 4th of July. His family has a house up in Door County and he’s been going his whole life, and they haven’t missed a Fourth of July parade up there ever. This was Kim’s 5th or 6th year going up there with him and he actually got a float in the parade that had a big ‘?’ on it. And then once it got in front of their group, he dropped the banner and rose up out of it and asked Kim! I love it!

Kim and Jake are getting married next year at a brand new venue in the Chicago suburbs, Brix on the Fox. It’s the perfect mix of rustic/industrial elegance, and I cannot wait! Now for my faves from their session 🙂
