Chris’s hands held the notecards before him and he began to speak. They trembled slightly, so much emotion building in him that his hands couldn’t help but dance. The notecards held words he had written not too long ago- words that would seal the deal and make Julie his, forever. He began his vows to love her, forgive her. To make her laugh with puns and continue taking her on dates. To listen when she’s upset and just needs to vent, to fix the problems when they arise, to know the difference between the two. I tear up at most weddings, but this was different. I knew that the girl I had spent the morning with getting ready was moments away from committing herself to someone who loved her with every ounce of his being. We all knew it- and [most] everyone was tearing up right along with me. The chandeliers of the Astor Hotel shimmered as if to acknowledge along with us that this moment would change the world forever.

I feel so privileged to have met Chris and Julie, let alone be their wedding photographer. Within the first few minutes of me arriving to Julie’s room, she was asking if I wanted water, coffee, if she could do anything to help me. On her wedding day. Her day. And she was asking about me!! It is so clear to me that Julie’s very nature is genuinely thoughtful, and how lucky Chris is to have someone love him like that. I’m also pretty sure that Chris would do just about ANYTHING for Julie; what a perfect match they are!

Julie and Chris, it is an honor to walk with you through this season and to witness your love for each other. It has inspired me in my own marriage as I’m sure it does and will continue to do for many others who know and love you. I wish you all the best, and look forward to running into you guys soon!!

PS- Please be sure to eat enough gelato for me on your Italian honeymoon!!

Lily, the flower girl, was throwing petals in handfuls and I was HERE FOR IT!

I think this is when Julie said “I do!” before the officiant could finish his sentence!! 🙂
