What a way to kick off the 2023 wedding season! This elegant, black tie wedding at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee was simply stunning in every way. Some of my favorite touches included the black velvet bridesmaid dress (and check out the MOB’s dress too 😍), the groom’s feathered bow tie, a black (!!!) wedding cake that was actually German chocolate cheesecake, and really everything about the five course meal (Erica and Zach are foodies which made for an INCREDIBLE spread!). I loved how they could throw an elegant and lavish celebration while remaining some of the most down to earth, gracious, and kind people. Being with them on their wedding day was truly the best!

I feel like I can’t post a January wedding without giving MAJOR props to both Zach and Erica for braving the chill outside. I didn’t hear them complain once about the temperature; actually, it was just the opposite- they said they felt fine and that it was warmer than they thought it’d be 🤯 I, however, kept mentioning to my second shooter how cold my hands were despite wearing gloves and my winter parka haha. I think this is more of a personality trait of Erica and Zach than a miraculous feat of the cold. They don’t strike me as being much of a complainer really ever, and always ready to laugh and enjoy the best of every situation.

Erica and Zach, your wedding was a treat in so many ways. Most of all, it was inspiring to witness your clear and real love for each other bring you into marriage. I love your ability to go with the flow with a smile on your face- you were such a joy to be with on your big day! Enjoy this sneak peak ALMOST as much as you’re currently enjoying your Hawaiian honeymoon 😘
