I am both overly excited to share this blog post with the world (this Monona Terrace wedding is SO good, guys!) and also dreading writing this… because I’m not sure I can do this day justice with my words. I was on a wedding high this entire weekend from being a part of Tara and Michael’s big day. And while I’m an emotional person in general, I found myself tearing up about triple the amount of normal times. From the tearful first look to a special homage to Tara’s late grandma, from heartfelt speeches to Michael’s a capella group’s impromptu mid-reception show, and of course- Tara’s dance with not only her step dad but also her grandpa and brother. It’s safe to say I was basically always wiping a tear away from behind my camera. This was just one of those days that you know you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

The day both started and ended in the same spot- in front of the fountain at Monona Terrace, which boasts unrivaled views of the capitol. After wedding party photos at the steps of the capitol (and no rain despite a VERY menacing radar, yay!), we headed to Tara and Michael’s church for their wedding mass. Adding an extra dose of sentimentality, Michael’s uncle concelebrated the mass with the parish priest (who married Tara’s mom and stepdad 8 years ago!). If you know Tara, you know that every detail was both thoughtful and accounted for. She brimmed with gratitude all day long, and it felt like a true gift to be with her this day. And if you know Michael, you know he brought the love, joy, and genuine heartfelt connection and peace to the day. Together, they make a damn good pair.

Tara and Michael, I cannot believe I’m already wrapping up your wedding blog! It feels like just yesterday you were offering my pregnant self a wearable fan for your hot (but stunning!) engagement session 😉 You guys have cemented a spot in my heart forever, and I look forward to seeing the adventures your marriage takes you on!
