It was a hot August day, exactly one year (and one day) from their original wedding date. Ginny and Nic were a 2020 couple whose wedding plans were postponed due to the pandemic. I can only imagine how devastating it was going from a wedding countdown in the 60s back to one in the 400s. But, having been through all of that- I truly believe it made August 7, 2021 THAT much better! Everyone that they love was able to gather for their celebration, and despite a sketchy forecast- we didn’t have to get our umbrellas once (and were able to move forward with the outdoor wedding as opposed to indoors)! Ginny and Nic hosted their wedding day at Geneva National, the perfect place for waterside nuptials and a reception venue that overlooks the rolling hills of the golf course.

Ginny and Nic are two of the most genuine people I’ve met. Ginny had a group of 30+ friends from her St. Louis high school travel to the wedding, Nic and Ginny were both were constantly checking in with me throughout their day, asking if I needed anything, making sure that we were taking breaks. I think that is just a small example of their naturally kind and giving personalities, and a testament to who they are as a couple. One of my favorite parts of the day was watching their relationship with their parents. It warmed my heart to see how close they were, and how the parents of both were friends with each other. You have to scroll to the first dance photos and spot the four parents in the background watching together- I’ve never seen that at all the weddings I’ve shot, and it’s indicative of the strong family bonds both Ginny and Nic have and will surely build on.

Ginny and Nic- we’ve been in it for the long haul, and I can’t believe I am FINALLY writing the end of your wedding blog post! You two are so so special to me, and I believe the long wait made your wedding extra sweet. I wish you both the best, and years of Dallas Cowboys wins to celebrate together 🙂
