Last year, Kortney and Matt were one of six of my couples that moved forward with their wedding despite the huge curveball life threw at us. It was an incredibly beautiful, intimate day, one that I didn’t want to end! And unlike most weddings I shoot, I was in luck- I was shooting their one year wedding celebration the following year! Their 2020 wedding left me not-so-patiently awaiting their larger 2021 celebration, and I’m here to say: it did NOT disappoint! It was an absolute dream to be at both events, and just when I didn’t think the photos from last year could be topped, I saw these 😉

The day started out at The Baths at Blackwolf Run, a fun way for all to play a laidback version of putt putt 🙂 There was a luncheon overlooking a pond, and then guests had time to freshen up before reconvening for a night of desserts and dancing under the stars. It was the perfect way to capitalize on togetherness, especially since the ceremony was done last year.

The thing that stood out to me the most was the clear distinction between Kortney and Matt this year compared to last year. I mentioned this to my second shooter too- but you could just TELL by the way they interacted that they had been married, that they were one. It was truly inspiring and moving to me, and what a perfect picture of what one year of life and marriage is like. Also- I can’t neglect to mention that they will welcome a baby girl this September! I joked with them that these are the most stunning maternity photos I’ve ever taken, but truly- I literally FORGOT Kortney is in her third trimester just looking at half of these photos. She looks absolutely amazing both pre-baby and pregnant, and I know her and Matt will make AMAZING parents!!

Kortney and Matt- THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for entrusting both of these special days to me. I am lucky to witness your love and cannot wait to see you become parents to baby girl. You three, and your families, are so so dear to me, and shooting these two events is a career highlight for me. Love you all so much!
