Sarah and Nick wedding day was so marvelous from start to finish! It was also extra special because Sarah is my cousin 🙂 Having grown up together spending summers at the lake in Northern Michigan, it was surreal to be her wedding photographer as she walked down the grand aisle at Notre Dame’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart. There was a moment during the ceremony when I got a little teary seeing Sarah up on the altar and thinking about our grandparents, who were surely there in spirit. When we were growing up and the cousins were all together up north, Sarah and the other younger cousins grew up being go-to gift bearers at church. It felt like a full circle moment watching her get married (by our second cousin!) in Notre Dame’s stunning basilica!

We started the day with a beautiful first look at Notre Dame’s law arch. I’ll say it now- this campus is gorgeous! It made me wish I could shoot more weddings around the campus! With Sarah and Nick Notre Dame alums, they mapped out all of the best photo spots and I was along for the ride 🙂 After the ceremony concluded, guests were treated to a wonderful lunch at Morris Park Country Club. There was dancing, cake (made by Sarah!!), and ice cream which made for the most enjoyable way to celebrate Nick and Sarah.

Sarah and Nick- thank you for upgrading me from wedding guest to wedding photographer 😉 It was so special to be in this role for you on the first day of your marriage! I look forward to making many more memories together, and seeing where marriage takes you two. Hugs!!!
